Not all that is gold shines, not all that is silver is precious

Diamonds are not formed over the course of hours, but

Over the course of millions and billions of years.

Etched into their gleaming surfaces years of pressure, history

And untold stories. Their saga spanning ages shows that old is

Indeed precious, indeed cherished, indeed…. Gold.

Age hides in the darkness, often obscured by the scorching sun

Of the new. Old holds thoughts of mustiness, of wear, tear

And crippling weakness. So it is buried, its purpose to not be seen,

To remain in the shadows. With it is buried pearls of wisdom,

More precious than any expensive metal, more magnificent than any

Shining castle.

Wisdom makes our governments tick over and our economies grow.

Wisdom is imbued in our cultures, each their own unique way

Of making make our world a better place. Wisdom grows with age, a

Small sapling at 13, a forest at the age of 80. Its roots never uprooted,

Its fruits always shared.

Wisdom is true gold. Age and experience the gardener of its paradise.

Not all that is gold shines, not all that is silver is precious.

Not all that is new is as glamorous as might be imagined.

Wisdom is indeed priceless, a price cannot be put on its head.

This is without a doubt, why old is gold.
